Landscape work commences at Skerries Railway Bridge roundabout

Following the approval by Fingal Co. Council and Skerries Tidy Towns, Grasshopper Landscape Maintenance’s design for the roundabout by the railway bridge, finally got underway last Saturday. A team of five were blessed with fine weather for the entire day and completed the ground works and first stages of the project in one day. The existing grass was stripped, the new layout was marked and the meandering curves which divide the planting and beach pebble areas were laid out. The design really started to come to life once the paving edge started to be set. A blinding layer of hardcore was placed in all gravel areas to leave it prepared for the next visit and the sculpture foundations were also installed. All in all it was a great team effort and the team were grateful for the encouragement and good wishes given by all the passing cars and pedestrians. The next stage of the design will be to apply the beach pebble to the roundabout, commence with the planting and install the bespoke sculptures.
