Skerries All Ireland Pride of Place Winner 2006
It has just been announced that Skerries is the proud winner of the all
island "Pride of Place" 2006 award for towns of population over 10,000.

Pride of Place is an all-island competition which is directed towards
recognising improvements by local communities to create civic pride
in
their area. The competition focus is on people coming together to shape, change and enjoy all that is good about their area.The picture below shows an ecstatic Angela Murphy, former Skerries Community Association Company Secretary, clutching the Trophy on the night of the awards.

PRIDE OF PLACE IN SKERRIES!
The Pride of Place Award is greeted in Skerries by representatives of
several of the community groups who took part in the competeition.
Skerries was the outright winner for towns of over 10,000 awarded at a ceremony last saturday week.
