
European Airport and Airline Cycling Champion Craig Sweetman launches

The Skerries FBD Rás Website was launched formally this week by European Airport and Airline Cycling Champion, Craig Sweetman, Miss RAS, Grace Reddin and Stage End Committee Chairman, Paul Deans.
The International cycling race which starts in two weeks time finishes in Skerries on Sunday 28th May. In addition to the race itself there is an afternoon carnival being planned for Skerries. The website is intended to raise awareness about the event and act as an information portal for people wanting to find out more about the plans for the final stage in Skerries.
At the launch, local man Craig Sweetman (33), who has been cycling for 20 years, said. “it’s great to see such an effort being made in Skerries for the final” This is Craig’s ninth Rás and he has finished in the top 15 on several occasions. Despite training every day of the week he expects stiff competition for the visiting professional international teams. Craig cycles for the Stamullen M Donnelly team.
Miss Rás, Grace Reddin, added more than a touch of glamour to the proceedings in a shimmering diaphanous dress. Grace will be presenting the prizes to the winning cyclists at the final on Sunday 28th May in Skerries. Sporty Grace attends Loretto School in Balbriggan, has a purple bike and loves swimming and kayaking. “It’s cool that the Rás is coming to Skerries and I’m really looking forward to the carnival before the event”
Paul Deans, who is the Chairman of the Skerries FBD Ras Stage End Committee, added “The carnival element of the final will really add something unique to the day for families.
