Skerries wins two top prizes in Fingal Community Volunteer Awards

Skerries had great success in this years' Fingal Council Community Person of the Year awards. There are eight categories, and two of the winners are dedicated volunteers on community issues in Skerries. Martin Russell, who was nominated for his work with Mourne View Community Centre, won the Community Facilities top award. Jane Landy, who was nominated for her work with Skerries Community Association, won the Representative Organisations award. Martin and Jane were shortlisted (that is, in the top three) for two different categories, and were the only people in all of Fingal to achieve this recognition as volunteers in two separate sections.
