Jim Quigley award for voluntary service |
|
On Saturday 27th May, the day before the FBD Rás, 50 people turned up to enjoy the first route in Hugh Halpin’s booklet- A trip to Baldungan castle. Among the cyclists, who were of all ages, was the Dutch Ambassador who was invited to attend. We shared with him our vision of making Skerries “The Netherlands of Ireland” in terms of cycling awareness and integration. He explained to us that what Holland has achieved in terms of cycling was reached over many decades of investment and we have to start now if we are raise the level of integration of cycling into our transport system. Any ideas you have are welcome please email us. Click here to see the photos |
