Skerries Mills and adjoining wildlife area

Parks Division is responsible for the maintenance of the unique collection of industrial mills at the Skerries Mills Complex. The management company Hill Mill Ltd has responsibility for the day to day running of the Mills. Parks Division also looks after the wildlife retreat area including the reed bed, brook and millponds.

Ardgillan Castle and Demesne

While the day-to-day management of the castle is the responsibility of the Ardgillan Board of Management, Parks Division carries out the work of maintaining the lands and buildings.

Looking after the burial grounds at Holmpatrick and Ardla

General maintenance is carried out on an on-going basis. This includes grass cutting, litter removal and keeping the cemeteries clean and tidy. Prior to the annual ceremonies to bless the graves, the council do a special clean up. Other services in this area include: sales of plots, issuing permits for opening of graves and erection of headstones.
