available to the unemployed under the Labour Market Activation Fund, 2010. *750
places* were allocated to County Dublin VEC.

Benefit/Allowance.*

Applicants who are *under 35* must be at least *3 months unemployed *before
the programme commences.
Applicants who are *over 35 *must be at least *12 months unemployed* before
the programme commences.

*Application Process*
To ensure participants are placed on a course suitable to their needs, all
applicants will be assessed to identify their ability and learning needs,
this process is called *screening*.

Screening is necessary to ensure that the adult participant has a positive
experience when they return to education. The screening process enables the
student to assess his/her skill level and therefore, with support, identify
the appropriate programme and level.
In addition to screening applicants will go through an interview process.

*Programme Duration*
Programmes are full time, (20 hours per week) and will run for 32 weeks from
September 2010 to June 2011. Attendance times may vary
